WRITE YOUR OWN STORY...
The story of The Book Club Restaurant came from a holiday visit to the heart of Pringle Bay where a young couple and their two small daughters fell inlove with a small town and all the opportunity that would unfold for them.

You might ask why its called The Book Club, and the name came from sharing stories, sharing wine and sharing good times just as a Book Club would...

A love from food, and all things flavour...
Calvin is a chef that does not fit into a cuisine, but fits into a category of producing flavourful dishes.

After finishing his training at IHS school, he embarked on a journey to explore London and finding the best restaurants to fulfil his talents.

Working in Michelin restaurants is where he explored fine dining and food of every form. Returning from London he established himself by working as head chef in restaurants such as La Motte, Leeu Estate and Asara in Western Cape.

Soon after this , covid hits and a plan is made to retreat back to Durban. A light bulb moment creates and develops Pasture the restaurant. A pop up space on a beautiful farm, which sets the tone and sparks the flame to creating The Book Club Restaurant as we know and love it.
